Breaking with tradition

A DRAMA group is breaking with tradition to stage a “surreal comedy.”
The Culcheth Players will present Inspector Drake’s Last Case, a comedy by David Tristram, at 7.30pm from Thursday October 8 to Saturday October 10 at Culcheth Sports and Social Club.
Director Albert Sawyer said: “In the past 40 years or so the Culcheth Players have staged the whole range of productions from spy drama, political thriller, murder mystery, seaside comedy, in fact everything but the kitchen sink!
“This is a slight departure from the above and belongs to the great British traditions of surreal comedy coming through Alice, the Goons, Monty Python. The play has been described as a laughing man’s Agatha Christie.”
