Man attacked on way home from pub

POLICE are hunting two men who carried out an unprovoked attack on a 51-year-old man during the early hours as he walked home along a Warrington canal towpath after a night out at the pub.
The man suffered various facial fractures and cuts to his face and ear as he was assaulted on the towpath close to Morrison’s Supermarket at Latchford.
The incident occured at around 1.20am last Saturday (Sept 12) after the victim had been drinking at the Walton Arms pub and had been walking home along Chester Road and Ellesmere Road prior to the attack.
Police believe the attackers may have had blood on their clothing following the attack as the victim suffered considerable blood loss.

  1. Morrisons is not in Latchford for God’s sake – it’s in Wilderspool – when are people going to recognise Wilderspool as a proper area on it’s own which is very distinct from Latchford???

  2. ???? The poor bloke has been seriously beaten up for no reason and is currently having facial reconstructive surgery and you are more concerned about area boundary names… FOR GOD’S SAKE !!!!!

    PS Stafford road which runs along the tow path opposite Morrisons is indeed LATCHFORD and I’d hardly call Wilderspool ‘distinct’ anyway !
