NHS roadshow celebrates 150 years

A SPECIAL roadshow as part of celebrations to mark 150 years of community nursing in Warrington is set to take place on Friday September 18.
The NHS Warrington Market Place event will be held at The Gateway from 11am to 3pm.
Staff from a range of services will be on hand to answer questions and talk about their work in the borough. The Stronger Together Team will give a display about health in its communities and there will be displays on future plans for the town.
The recruitment team will be on hand for those interested in a career with the NHS. Infection Control Nurses will also answer any questions about Swine Flu.
Staff are offering health MOTs, blood pressure and BMI checks, and advice on services such as giving up smoking and loosing weight. They will offer help on setting goals for a healthy lifestyle.
Special displays will feature 150 years of Community Nursing in Warrington, as it celebrates the anniversary and there will also be displays from community matrons, community Macmillan nurses, district nurses and community matrons in nursing homes.
Visitors are invited to stay for the Annual Meeting of NHS Warrington from 3pm.
