Beer festival
A BEER festival takes place at Grappenhall and Thelwall Royal British Legion club tonight (Saturday). Tickets are £5.
Hospital lottery
TWO winners shared the jackpot prize in the weekly lottery run by the League of Friends of Warrington Hospital. The winning numbers were 6, 7, 11 and 13 and the lucky pair received £515 each. A £25 consolation prize was also awarded.
Appeal allowed
A PLANNING inspector has allowed an appeal by a resident of St Mary’s Road, Penketh, against the refusal by Warrington Borough Council to grant permission for single storey front and rear extensions to his house. He ruled the extensions would not adversely affect neighbours.
Dog walk
DOG lovers are being invited to take part in a sponsored woodland dog walk in the grounds of the Cheshire Dogs Home, in Knutsford Road, Grappenhall, Warrington tomorrow (Sunday). The walk takes place between 10am and 4pm and people can either walk their own dog or one from the home.
Extension approved
PLANS to remove an existing conservatory at a house in Poynton Close, Grappenhall and replace it with a single-storey rear extension have been approved by Warrington planners.
Farmers’ market
A FARMERS’ Market, with a carvery lunch served between 12 noon and 4pm, will be held at Warrington’s Walton H all Gardens tomorrow (Sunday). It opens at 10.30am.
Tattoo parlour
A SHOP at Bruche Heath Gardens, Padgate, Warrington, could be converted into a tattoo parlous if planning chiefs give the go-ahead.
School extension
PLANS for classroom extensions, new toilets, an art room and storage rooms at St Bridget’s RC Primary School, Capesthorne Road, Orford, have been approved by Warrington planners.
Walk-about
MEMBERS of Lymm Parish Council are to go walk-about in the village – looking for problems and putting forward suggestions for solutions.
