Hairdresser's community boost

A WARRINGTON hairdressing business is celebrating its 60th anniversary by supporting an initiative which gives grants to community groups in the borough.
Johnson’s Hairdressing is backing the Warrington Grassroots Endowment Challenge.
Marketing manager Gill Lawrence said: “Johnsons Hairdressing is now in its third generation and has been part of the community for 60 years.
“By supporting initiatives such as Warrington Grassroots we are showing our long-term commitment to Warrington too. The Endowment Challenge is not just about the grant giving now – it is about building a fund that can continue to support community groups for many years to come.
“We will be supporting Warrington Grassroots through our involvement in fundraising events such as the Fame! Hair and Beauty Event on October 6 as well as in-store donation collection.
“And we can’t wait for the gala night next March when we will be styling the models for the Fashion Show.”
Nigel Bacon, chief executive of Warrington Council for Voluntary Service, which runs Grassroots in the town, added: “Every penny raised by Johnsons Hairdressing can receive match-funding from the Government, doubling the giving and good work that is carried out in Warrington.”
Grassroots aims to make a real and immediate difference to the Warrington community. Anyone who wants to apply for a grant or make a donation should contact Warrington Council for Voluntary Service on 01925 246880 or visit www.warringtoncvs.org.uk
