Residents can visit police surgery

RESIDENTS in Grappenhall and Thelwall can quiz their local PCSOs at a special “police surgery” next week.
Police Community Support Officers Victoria Fox and Alex Stacey are hosting the drop-in surgery at Grappenhall Heys Primary School on Tuesday June 23 between 2.30pm and 4.30pm.
They will be on hand to talk to residents about any issues in the area – and to offer valuable crime reduction advice if needed.
PCSO Fox said: “We are looking at different ways of engaging with the local community and these surgeries are a great way for local people to meet us face-to-face and talk to us about any issues that are affecting them.
“We want the local community to get involved by telling us what issues most concern them. Letting us know about any problems allows us to really get to grips with what is happening in the area and decide on the best ways of dealing with any issues.
“Please feel free to drop in and discuss any issues with us or just pop along on the day and introduce yourself to your local officers.”
Issues raised at last month’s community surgery included speeding along Thelwall New Road, issues with the traffic flow on Knutsford Road, Grappenhall, and vehicles parking on the corner of Stocktport Road and Half Acre Lane in Thelwall.
Local officers are already working alongside the local community – and partners from other agencies – to work out the best ways of dealing with any issues and to come up with long-term solutions.
Speed checks are regularly being carried out along Thelwall New Road to ensure drivers are sticking to the speed limit.
Officers are also regularly monitoring hot spot areas to ensure that vehicles are not obstructing the road.
PCSO Fox and PCSO Stacey will be hosting further community surgeries at other key locations in Grappenhall and Thelwall – details of these surgeries will be confirmed nearer the time.
Anyone who cannot attend the surgery but would like to speak to either PCSO Fox or PCSO Stacey can call 0845 458 6372.
