TOWN could and should have got something out of this game and were left to rue a number of missed chances in the first half.
Chris Gaghan was the first to miss out and then McCarthy hit the post.
Phil Hadland had the ‘keeper stretched to tip the ball away.
The breakthrough for the visitors came in the 63rd minute when Tom Hardwick was sent off the Skem were awarded a penalty which Michael White duly put away.
Town could have equalised a minute later when Gahgan hit the post, but four minutes after that Skem went further ahead when Chris Almond’s low drive went under Richard Mottram.
In the 73rd minute Martin Crowder made it three and former Town player Kevin Towey hit the fourth in the 85th minute.
Town could have conceded a fifth goal but for a fine save by Mottram in the dying minutes of the game.
