“We’ll Meet Again” at Warrington’s Parr Hall on March 24 at 2.30pm is a tribute to the legendary stars of the war years.
Songs evoking memories of Vera Lynn, Donald Peers, Gracie Fields, Warrington’s own George Formby, Bing Crosby and comedians Robb Wilton, Max Miller and Tessie O’Shea make up most of the show.
It is set in a wartime Garrison Theatre and the theme is certainly “Hits from the Blitz”.
Singer Mervyn Francis hosts the programme and introduces a superb cast of entertainers including comedian Steve Barclay ukulele star Andy Eastwood.
Julia Burnett, with her songs of Gracie and Vera, will warm the hearts of many. Multi instrumentalist Pete Lindup features all the brass instruments and recalls the big band era with Glenn Miller favourites.
