Town host sailors

SAILORS from Warrington’s adopted submarine HMS Turbulent were special guests at Warrington Town Football Club.
They had been hoping to cheer on Warrington during their Unibond Division One North clash with Woodley Sports which was unfortunately frozen off.
Despite the setback the crew still enjoyed a buffet laid on at the club’s recently revamped social club.
They were joined by the town’s Mayor Coun Graham Welborn and his Mayoress wife Elaine and former Miss Warrington Holly Ikin, who is celebrating after winning through to the UK finals of Miss Universe.
It was a first visit to Warrington for the Turbulent’s new Commanding Officer Ryan Ramsey, who was joined by nineteen members of his crew, who had a difficult journey “up North” after being stranded in snow in Exeter!
Plans are now in place for a charity match between crew members and a Warrington Town XI later in the year.
