Town braces itself for more snow

0

WARRINGTON experienced more snow today as the forecasters accurately predicted that “light snow” would be falling by 8am.
In fact, the light snow was enough to stick in fields, on untreated roads and on parked cars.
The borough council’s road traffic information signs were warning motorists to reduce speed because of snow lying on main roads.
But as reports of more serious downfalls in other parts of the country came in, the hope was that Warrington would escape the worst of the weather.
The forecasters were predicting the snow would turn to sleep by mid-day – and to rain later on.

Pictures show local youngsters enjoying the snow at Appleton and the scene in nearby Grappenhall.
