Burger bar stolen from beauty spot

POLICE are investigating after thieves stole a £14,000 mobile burger bar from a Warrington beauty spot.
The vehicle – purchased only four months ago – was stolen from its regular site on the A56 at Lymm Dam.
It has left the local family which has sold refreshments from the site for the last 12 years, out of business.
Although they have been trying to find a replacement van, as yet they have been unable to do so.
The business, which sells burgers, hot snacks, drinks etc to walkers, anglers and other visitors to Lymm Dam, is run by Kathleen Murrell and Helen Ball, both of Lymm.
Kathleen and her son, Daniel, were attending a family funeral when the raiders struck on Thursday, January 29.
Helen had stepped in to serve in the bar while the funeral was on and at about 3.20pm closed up and locked the vehicle.
Her husband, Kevin, arrived 20 minutes later to tow it away to its regular storage place at High Legh – but found it had gone.
Passersby have reported seeing three youths with a red Toyota van hitching up the vehicle and towing it away, but there is no other clue as to who the thieves were.
Daniel said: “The worrying thing is that the thieves must have watch my aunt closing up and securing the vehicle. It had been custom made for the family, but if they watch carefully they would have seen how to hitch it up to their van.
If anyone familiar with the white van, with its distinctive red stripe, should see it or have any information about it they should call police on 0845 458 0000.
