Students broaden their horizons

HIGH school pupils in Warrington who are currently studying for a GCSE in German were given the opportunity to broaden their horizons when they visited the Pyramid Centre to watch a performance from a touring theatre group.
Warwickshire based company, Onatti Theatre, returned to Warrington to give pupils from Birchwood, Culcheth, Newman and Lymm high schools a vivid insight into much of the vocabulary and subjects being covered in the classroom.
Funded by Warrington’s 14-19 Pathfinder project and organised by Priestley College, the latest instalment proved to be as popular as ever with the Pyramid packed to the rafters.
Devised and performed entirely in German “Nichts Zum Anziehen” told the story of two love-struck teenagers as they prepared for a first date and the hilarity that subsequently ensued.
Carol Mtitimila, head of Languages at Priestley, said: “We now have a long standing arrangement with Onatti which continues to see local teenagers benefit from an enriched learning experience in modern foreign languages.
“As a town, Warrington is broadening its cultural horizons all the time with education providers soon to unite once more with a cross-country initiative with the French region of Dijon.”
