A WARRINGTON marketing director has been confirmed as an expert panellist at the forthcoming Securing Educational Establishments conference to be held at Birmingham on March 5.
Pauline Norstrom, director of worldwide marketing at Daresbury-based AD Group will take part in the conference, making use of her expertise in CCTV standards and best practice.
She said: “I am delighted to have been asked to participate in a roundtable debate at the conference – alongside fellow panellists from education and the security industry – to consider the extent to which surveillance systems should be utilised in educational establishments.
“As part of the discussion we will be covering issues such as: compliance with moral and legal issues; managing the interface between public and private domains; the effectiveness of CCTV and the potential for CCTV to be applied outside traditional applications.
“When it comes to maximising the safety and security of today’s schools, colleges and universities, there are undoubtedly tremendous challenges for surveillance systems in terms of securing such large-scale and diverse campus environments, with multiple buildings often situated in fast moving urban areas.
“It is therefore imperative that great care and consideration is given to specifying the right CCTV infrastructure and sector-specific events, such as the Conference, provide an invaluable forum to allow decision makers to reflect on these pressing issues and how they can best be tackled.”
