THE Red Cross has set up a new fundraising branch at Lymm and need volunteers to help plan and run events in and around the village.
Lymm resident Katie Baverstock-Hunt is leading the initiative and already has an exciting programme of events lined up.
She said: .”Fundraising is fun, rewarding and a great way to meet new people whilst helping those in crisis locally and around the world.
“I fit in my volunteering around work and being a mum I understand that people have lots of commitments. But even if you are just able to bake a cake for our Spring fair, or collect for a couple of hours during Red Cross week in May, I’d love your help.”
The Red Cross is a volunteer-led humanitarian organisation that helps people in crisis everywhere and currently faces a critical situation in Zimbabwe and southern Africa.
But they also operate locally and from its Cheshire headquarters in Knutsford, provides eight vital services across the county.
