Another takeway shop approved

PLANNING chiefs have given the go-ahead for a controversial hot food takeaway shop – despite a warning that it will mean three similar shops in a row of three retail premises.
The site in Liverpool Road, Great Sankey involves a former furniture store which has been sub-divided into three units.
One end unit is already a takeaway, planners have now approved a take away in the other end unit and members of Warrington’s development control committee were told an application had been received from a third takeaway.
Great Sankey Parish Council lodged an objection on the grounds that a concentration of takeaways in the area will be detrimental to local residents because of distance, increased litter and noise.
Members of the committee visited the site before reaching their decision.
Nearby residents objected on the grounds of noise, litter and smell problems.
But planning officers claimed the scheme would have no significant adverse impact on the living conditions of nearby residents.
