Driving restricted on shortcut

A TEMPORARY order restricting driving on a busy Warrington shortcut resumes this week after a break for the festive season.
The order restricts driving in Red Lane, Appleton.
Restrictions will be in place until January 26 to ensure completion of phase two of the works, which involves installing a new water main.
Red Lane will be closed from its junction with Warren Road to its junction with Whitefield Road.
The alternative route for phase two of the works will be via Windmill Lane, Quarry Lane, London Road, Walton Road, Whitefield Road and vice versa.
The closure is required to install a new 500mm water main as part of the Warrington Supply improvement schemes.
