Churches to launch litter blitz

0

THE Churches in Lymm are staging a one hour litter pick on Sunday, March 1 at 2pm – the first of a series of monthly tidy-up sessions to help keep Lymm looking at its best.
This follows a series of litter picks organised by the churches last year when members turned out to remove litter from the village centre, car parks, bus stops, the canal towpaths and Ridgeway Grundy Park.
Members of the public offered such encouragement that the churches are repeating the exercise this year.
The March 1 event will be followed by others on the first Sunday of each month, up to and including November. All equipment will be provided.
Last year, the venture was supported by Lymm Parish Council, which provided equipment and large sacks.
The litter pickers will meet at the Lower Dam. Further information can be obtained from Brian Turner on 01925 753059.
