Raiders get away with safe

RAIDERS broke into a convenience store, stole a safe and carried it nearly a mile before smashing it open – only to find it was empty.
The burglary was at a shop in Higher Lane, Lymm and the raiders broke in at night through a rear door.
They stole a small quantity of cigarettes and wrenched the safe from the wall before taking it to Longbutt Lane where they smashed it open and dumped it after finding it contained no cash.
Two bags containing cigarettes were also abandoned near the shop, suggesting the offenders may have been disturbed.
