Nine candidates for mini election

VOTERS go to the polls tomorrow (Thursday) in a “mini election” – the first to take place in Warrington since the controversial May elections.
Nine candidates will be seeking one of two vacancies on Penketh Parish Council arising from the deaths earlier this year of Coun Nancy Spencer and Coun Eileen Dempsey.
Labour and Conservative are both defending one seat and bidding to win another.
In East Ward there is a three cornered fight. Candidates are:
Andrew Barnes, Liberal Democrat; Stella Fletcher, Labour; Kenneth Magill, Conservative.
But in West Ward there will be six candidates contesting one seat.
They are: Stephanie Davies, Green; Peter Elton, Conservative; Shoaib Malik, Faith Unity Discipline; Ann Raymond, Liberal Democrat; Joe Royle, Independent; Anthony Williams, Labour.
