VILLAGERS turned back the clock to bygone days with the annual Lymm Dickensian Festival.
Despite gloomy weather and plenty of rain there was still a big turn out for the annual pre-Christmas festival which saw shopkeepers in period costume, street entertainers, fairground rides, Morris Dancers, music and food stalls.
The event started with a procession involving local school children in fancy dress setting off from the Lymm Hotel, down Eagle Brow and through the village centre.
The event was organised jointly by Lymm Rotary Club and Lymm Round Table and is expected to raise thousands of pounds for charity.
There were fairground organs, roundabouts, Lymm High School’s band, fire eaters, stiltwalkers and lots of other entertaining.
Guests included the Mayor and Mayoress of Warrington Graham and Elaine Welborn who were joined by Parish Council Chairman Sheila Woodyatt and her husband Neville.
