College girls prove they're the best

CREATIVE nail students from Warrington Collegiate have proved they are the country’s best.
The girls, who are all studying on level three nail services courses, have beaten off competition from thousands of others across the country and taken first and second place in the student nail extension competition.
And the students have been learning this art for just six weeks.
It was a double accolade for the collegiate with some students taking part in the professional nail art contest where they competed against fully qualified nail technicians. Warrington Collegiate took fourth and fifth place in this category showing off skills using 3D nail art and hand painting.
The competition was held as part of a national beauty show at the G-Mex in Manchester.
Claire Grady and Kerry Marshall took first and second place in the student tip and overlay category and Laura Hill and Stacie Warren, who are both just 17, finished in fourth and fifth place in the showcase nail art section.
Michelle Perry, course leader for nail services at the collegiate, said: “I am extremely proud of our students who faced fierce competition from both other students and also professionals working full time in the nail industry. This is the second year running for my students and they are doing extremely well in competitions and I hope that this can continue.
“Many of them have only been studying the art of nails for six weeks so this is a real achievement and something they should all be rightly proud of.”
