Pupils celebrate tag rugby success

PUPILS from Lymm are celebrating coming third in a Cheshire-wide primary schools Tag Rugby Festival.
The team, from Oughtrington Primary School, Howard Avenue, played in three rounds in the competition.
The team of 10 boys and girls, competing in the seven-a-side non-contact game, won the first round for Lymm schools held at Lymm High School.
They then went on to the second round for Warrington primary schools hosted by Warrington Rugby Union Club at Warrington Sports Club in Walton.
They won their group, so went on to the Cheshire final at Macclesfield RU Club where teams from all over Cheshire competed.
The Oughtrington team came third and won a shield which is now displayed in the school. All team members were presented with certificates in assembly.
Teaching assistant Shelagh Dolan said; “They have done really well and we are very proud of them.”
