WARRINGTON Town set up a mouthwatering home derby clash with Nantwich

Town as they clinched a 3-1 extra time victory over Midlands based

Romulus in the FA Trophy 2nd qualifying round replay at Cantilever Park

last night.
Having already disposed of Unibond Premier outfit Matlock Town in the previous round, Town will fancy their chances of creating another cup upset in the 3rd qualifying round against their near neighbours to be staged at Cantilever Park on Saturday November 22nd kick off 3pm.
After Sunday’s 2-2 draw in the Midlands, Town again had to come from behind after conceeding a penalty midway through the first half. But within three minutes they were back on level terms after a great through ball from Adam Hunter set up Chris Gaghan for the equaliser.
Warrington dominated much of the game but failed to convert their chances and always looked vulnerable when Romulus were on the break or from set pieces.
With the game locked at 1-1 Town required extra time to transform their possession into goals – the first coming in the first period of extra time when Ant Daniels struck another wonder goal from the edge of the box.
Then fans favourite, Warrington Postie Dave Tickle (pictured right) made sure in the second period of extra time when he raced through and put the ball through the advancing keeper’s legs to set up the derby clash with Nantwich, which is expected to draw the biggest crowd of the season.

Town: Mottram, Farrell, Fitzsimmons,

Spearitt, Thomas ©, Daniels (Tickle), Hadland, Hunter, Rendell, Gahgan

(Wellstead), S Williams (Webb).

Subs not used: Kielty,

Pithers
