The event was organised jointly by the Mayor’s office and the Older Persons Engagement Group.
Guests tucked into a plated buffet, with cream cakes and trifle, before sitting back to laugh at tales of old Warrington told by Effie Starr (Barbara Clarke) who then introduced 86-year-old folk singer Joan Gallimore, from Hancock Court, Latchford who sang traditional songs and earned tremendous applause from her audience.
The Mayor and Mayoress said they would have fond memories of the occasion.
