Vandals attack phone box

1

VANDALS tried to destroy a public phone box at Woolston, Warrington early today.
Fire crews were called to Gordon Avenue after nearby residents reported the phone box was ablaze.
They found a quantity of rubber had been placed inside and set alight.
But they managed to extinguish the flames before the phone itself was damaged. Advertising material in the box was destroyed however.
Police are investigating.

  1. It does not surprise me whatsoever that this has happened. I’ve lived in the area for 8 years and have never seen the phone box being used apart from being a good target for vandalism.

It’s about time this phone box is removed. The only time no one vandalised the box is when a poster of a Dalek was put on there to mark the return of Dr Who 2 years ago – perhaps the vandals are Dr Who fans?
