Hospital lottery

WINNING numbers in the weekly lottery run by the League of Friends of Warrington Hospital were 1, 3, 5 and 14. Two winners shared the £1,276 jackpot and a £25 consolation prize was won by a hospital visitor.

Charity show

A VARIETY show is being staged at Appleton Parish Hall tonight (Saturday) to raise money for leukaemia research. The show is being put on by the Little Stars performing arts group and tickets are on sale at the hall between 9am and 12 pm from the hall, or by calling Lauren Kelly on 07979 644948.

Music talk

NICHOLAS Cox, principal clarinet with the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra will talk on “The Thinking Reed” at a meeting of Warrington Literary and Philosophical Society at Friars Green Methodist Church, Cairo Street, on Monday (October 6). The talk starts at 7.30pm.

Soul night

THE Penketh Tavern, in Greystone Road, Penketh is holding a soul night with DJ Sean Winstone tonight (Saturday) at 7.30pm. Admission is free.

Hot pot

A HOT pot supper is being held at Nora Street Community House on Monday, October 13, in aid of the National Association of Women’s Clubs. It starts at 7.30pm and details are available from 01925 656968.
