A MAN was taken to hospital early today after his car was involved in a single-vehicle collision at Warrington.
Fire crews stood by as the wrecked vehicle was removed from the scene in Wash Lane, Latchford.
It is understood the car – a five-door Peugeot – crashed into a tree and was a complete write-off.
Petrol was leaking from the ruptured fuel tank and flowing onto the road and a grass verge, posing a risk of fire.
The driver suffered injuries and was rushed to Warrington Hospital by paramedics.
Police are investigating the incident, which occurred at about 5.20am.
