WARRINGTON Town have received a major boost with the recapture of former club captain Tom Spearitt from Cammell Lairds.
Spearitt left Town during the close season to join Lairds who had been promoted to the Unibond Premier League.
But he failed to settle and now has been persuaded to return to Warrington to help bolster the central defence.
Manager Paul Moore is delighted to have regained the services of Spearitt who will bring some added height to the centre of defence.
It is hoped that the club can get clearance for Spearitt to make his debut at home to Colwyn Bay in the Unibond Cup, tomorrow, Tuesday, kick off 7.45pm when Town will be hoping to get back to winning ways.
Moore says Spearitt left Warrington purely for the league status and no other reason.
“You can not hold it against a player who has ambitions to play at a higher level,” said Moore.
“Hopefully now Tom has rejoined us he can help take Town to a higher level.”
