Murder victim may have been stabbed

THE man found dead in a house at Bewsey, Warrington may have been stabbed.
Police have still not reveal the cause of death.
But people living in the area say they understand the victim had suffered stab wounds and that the attack took place behind shops opposite the Mad Hatter public house in Lovely Lane.
Detective are questioning a 39-year-old Warrington man on suspicion of murder have appealed for help from the public.
They want to hear from anyone who saw “an agitated man” in the Lovely Lane area of the town between 8pm and 8.30pm last night (Wednesday)
Police were called to the Lovely Lane area at about 8.20pm last night where they found a man suffering from minor injuries.
After enquiries in the area they went to a house in nearby Leicester Street where they discovered a man’s body.
They have not revealed the identity of the deceased and are understood to be trying to contact members of his family.
A police spokeswoman said: “A 39-year-old local man has been arrested on suspicion of murder and is helping police with enquiries.”
A post mortem examination is due to take place later today.
