STAFF at one of Warrington’s most popular beauty spots are celebrating after being awarded a Visitor Attraction Quality Assurance Service award.
Walton Hall Gardens is now officially “a great place to visit” after achieving the national award at the first year of entry.
Inspectors were impressed with the opportunities for young and old to enjoy country estate facilities and praised the enthusiasm and dedication of staff.
Coun Alan Litton, the borough council’s executive member for Environmental Services said: “This is a great achievement for Walton Hall Gardens and a fantastic opportunity to encourage people in Warrington to get outdoors and use our local parks and green spaces.”
The VAQAS award is the latest accolade for Walton Hall Gardens following last year’s Green Flag award and the Visitors’ Choice gong at the 2007 Warrington Business Awards.
Two members of staff also received Positive Action awards for services to disabled people and the Friends of Walton Estate were short listed for Cheshire Awards for Tourism and Skills.
