THE front man of a former chart topping eighties band has confirmed he will perform at the Parr Hall in Warrington.

Marc Almond, formerly of British post-punk band Soft Cell, has confirmed he will be returning to Warrington after a successful performance with Jools Holland at the venue last month.
He will be performing tracks off his new album “Stardom Road”, which is a collection of classic covers featuring artists such as Jools Holland, Anthony Hegarty and Sarah Cracknell.
Music lovers are very much aware of the impact Soft Cell had on the industry, with hits like “Numbers”, “Bedsitter” and of course “Tainted Love”. They have influenced many of today’s top acts, including Goldfrapp, Pulp and The Pet Shop Boys.
During his solo career, Marc has also found chart success with hits like “Vermin in Ermine” and “The Stars We Are”, even having a UK number one duet with the late Gene Pitney called “Something Gotten Hold of my Heart.”
Marc will be performing at the Parr Hall on September 11 at 8pm, with tickets priced at £20.
