WARRINGTON Disability Partnership’s annual ‘Disability Awareness Week’ was officially launched in Warrington town centre by the Mayor of Warrington Coun Graham Welborn.
An audience, including civic guests from Warrington’s twin town of Hilden in Germany, was entertained by a colourful display of performing arts including the Brinnington Samba Band, Mencap Players and St Helens Gospel Choir. The Launch kicked off a week long programme of events in the lead up to Disability Awareness Day 2008, this Sunday July 6, including events for Children and Young People, Carers and Employers.
Tickets are still available for the annual DAD barbecue in the Park this Friday July 4 in Walton Gardens.
Meanwhile the event on Sunday will include more than 500 exhibitor spaces, a full programme of events, free accessible Park and Ride from Wilderspool Park, a free bus from Warrington Town Centre every 30 minutes, the annual Pulse Sponsored Walk/Push, allowing particpants to raise money for the charity of their choice.
