Warrington Town 1 Grantham Town 0
WARRINGTON Town grabbed all three points in well deserved victory against fourth placed Grantham Town at Cantilever Park.
Chris Fitzsimmons and Brian Holmes were unavailable for The Yellows, but they were able to welcome back Ben Heath and Michael Grogan into the squad.
It was the visitors who started brightly and could have taken the lead in the very first minute with a shot that just drifted wide of the target.

After Grantham had struck the post, Thomas Lamb’s shot forced a good save from visiting keeper Mario Ziccardi.
This was a sign of things to come as only a minute later Town took the lead following a scrambled in the Grantham goal area that was eventually converted by Lamb from close range.
Both sides had a couple of efforts on goal each before the half time whistle blew, but it was Grantham who put the home side under pressure at the beginning of the second half.
Warrington’s defence held firm with full-back Steve Everett clearing an effort off the line, before Thomas Lamb went close with a smart turn and shot.
The game entered into a midfield battle after that, before Grantham’s Jason Minnetta struck the post.
Anthony Daniels did have the ball in the back of the net, but had his effort chalked off after being adjudged off-side.
Daniels was then on the end of a fine move from the home side and forced Ziccardi into a fine stop as Town held on to secure all three points.
