A WARRINGTON Masonic Lodge has been true to its name – The Lodge of Charity – by offering support to three local groups. Donations have been made to the Warrington Wolves Foundation, St Rocco’s Hospice and CANtreat. Lodge of Charity Master, Andrew Young, of Stockton Heath, presented a £200 cheque to the Wolves Foundation at the Halliwell Jones Stadium. The charity runs a variety of projects aimed at getting youngsters involved in sport and improving education opportunities. A cheque for £150 has also gone to Warrington-based CANtreat which was founded by cancer survivor Andrew Gartside whose father Phil is a member of the Lodge. It funds projects to improve the environment in chemotherapy treatment clinics at NHS hospitals, and aims to improve facilities for cancer patients at Warrington and Halton hospitals. A £150 donation was also made to St Rocco’s Hospice, which will go towards the day unit appeal. This is the latest in a series of donations given to the hospice by the town’s Freemasons groups.
