Priestley crowned Student RL Champs

WARRINGTON’S PRIESTLEY College was crowned Student Rugby League North West College champions in front of the television cameras of Channel M.
The Warrington outfit thumped Oldham College 46-6 in a physical clash away from home.
It was Priestley who took advantage of early opportunities with Ewan Rodgers crossing the white wash and four-pointers being added by Matt Lee and twice from Matthew Lomax.
Oldham came back into the game mid-way through the first half, but Priestley were able to withstand the pressure and broke well on the counter attack, proving their championship credentials.
Priestley piled on the pressure at the beginning of the second half and were even more devastating as Lomax scored again, Lee and Rodgers added another try each to their tallies, and Alex Thompson crossed under the sticks for a brace.
The home side displayed their aggressive nature late on and managed to respond with a converted score of their own.
Any rally was not enough to spoil Priestley College’s day as they maintained their 100 per cent record and can now look forward to a break before the cup competitions begin.
