Goole 2 Warrington Town 1
TOWN boss Paul Moores was frustrated by the officials’ performance as The Wire were edged out by promotion chasing Goole FC in their latest Uni Bond Division One South clash.
The Yellows were able to hand a debut to new signing Gavin Lynch, who joined the club recently from Prescott Cables.
Goole started the brighter in the opening stages, forcing Town keeper Shane McWeeney in to early saves.

Debutant Lynch had Town’s first shot in the game, but the first real chance fell to striker Thomas Lamb, who could only drive his shot wide of the upright from 12 yards.
Just 16 minutes into the game the home side took the lead when Goole striker Duncan Bray firing past McWeeney after a mistake in The Wire’s defence.
Only three minutes later it was 2-0 when Warrington central defender Tony Dunne lobbed the ball into his own net when attempting to clear.
It could have been three before half time, but for an excellent low save from McWeeney.
The second half started with the introduction of Connor Taylor to give The Wire a fresh impetus up front.
Both Lamb and Francis Smith went close for the away side shortly after the re-start, before Taylor missed a guilt-edged chance to narrow the deficit, miss kicking when played clean through.
Goole could have been out of sight when Bray found the net again, but the referees assistant’s flag came to the rescue.
Warrington gave themselves a life line as the game drew to a close with captain Tom Spearitt on hand to head home after Smith’s free kick had smashed against the bar.
Unfortunately Town could not find another goal to draw the game level and left empty handed with boss Paul Moores being dismissed for berating the officials.
