Nightmare start for new boss

Warrington Town 0 Carlton Town 5
A NEW era at Warrington Town got off to a disastrous start after they were thumped 0-5 at home by Carlton Town.
Paul Moores took charge of the side for the first time since taking over from Ian Street in midweek and started with an attacking formation to try and hit the visitors early.
Unfortunately for The Wire, it was Carlton who started the better and indeed took the lead after 17 minutes when Martin Bell curled a free kick in to the top corner.
Soon after Carlton were able to double their advantage when Warrington Keeper John Bagnall punched a cross straight to Phillip Bignall, who crossed to leave Darrell Thomas with an easy finish.
Town’s misery got even worse as the visitors were awarded a penalty on the stroke of half time when centre half Matty Elder brought Thomas down in the box, Bignall duly converted the spot kick.
The Wire came out with a bit more fight in the second half and captain Chris Fitzsimmons looked to have gone close, but was eventually ruled off side.
Carlton were able to make it four soon after as Bignall got his second of the game after a good original save from Bagnall.
Chris Moores came off the bench for Town and went close with a fierce drive, but the visitors were undeterred and made it 0-5 when a long ball found Steve Chaplin who was able to finish well.
Town are without a league win in four and Moores looks to have a big task on his hands to turn their fortunes around.
