Warrington Town 0 Belper Town 2
WARRINGTON Town suffered their third home league defeat of the season as they were sunk by a strong Belper Town side.
Even under the gaze of NPLTV, the league’s online television station, and the support Warrington’s adopted submarine HMS Turbulent, The Wire couldn’t manage to over come the Nailers.
It was the away side that took the early initiative as they two efforts ruled out for offside, before Graeme Mitchell’s half volley forced a fine save out of their keeper Adam Ogden.
At the beginning of the second half Town seemed to be brighter, yet it was stand in keeper John Bagnall who produced two fine saves to deny Belper from taking the lead.
The Nailers were given the chance to break the deadlock after 76 minutes, as referee Meeson awarded a soft penalty, which was duly converted by Ross Hannah.
Things got worse for Town two minute later when Lee Stevenson struck a low 20-yard drive past the helpless John Bagnall.
Even the huge vocal support from the sailors could not inspire the home side to get back into the game, which ended 0-2.
