WARRINGTON Town got back tro winning ways as they progressed through to the 1st Qualifying Round of the potentially money-spinning FA Trophy, with a hard earned 3-2 victory over Rossendale.
They will now meet Romulas on October 20th.
Steve Smith with a penalty and a brace for Mike Ellison secured the win. Warrington started well with Courtney, Smith and Moore going close but it was the Stags that took the lead after Town’s keeper Danny Morton made a mistake when his clearance fell to Danny Warrender who lobbed the keepr.
Town equalized on 35 minutes when they were awarded a penalty kick, Steve Smith converting the spot kick four minutes later Mike Ellison scored his first with a low drive .
The Stags equalized 4 minutes into the second half when Tom Williams scored when Warrington couldn’t clear their lines.
Town’s winner came in the 69th minute, Mike Ellison scoring his second when good work from Chris Moores allowed him to side foot the ball past Stags Keeper Lee Bracey.
