Warrington Town 3 Spalding United 1
WARRINGTON Town secured their first home win of the season with an impressive 3-1 victory over bottom of the league Spalding United.
The win left Town just four points off top spot and on the fringe of a play-off spot ion the Unibon Division One South, as they bid for promotion as part of their five year plan to gain Football League status.
Town started brightly and should have been 2-0 up in the opening five minutes, missing two simple chances.
First half goals from Smith and Crompton gave Warrington breathing space at the break and a headed goal by Cyne 10 minutes from time sealed the victory.
A poor clearance by the keeper allowed Spalding to grab a late consolation goal.
