FORTY blind veterans and their helpers will be the guests of 75 Engineer Regiment at their barracks in Warrington tomorrow (Thursday).
The visit has been arranged between the unit and the charity, Blind Veterans UK, which helps veterans who lost their sight in service or otherwise.
Weapons and vehicles will be available for inspection and the visitors will be invited to take part in military tasks at Peninsula Barracks, Orford.
Blind Veterans UK provide visually impaired armed forces and national service veterans with the services and support they need for life after sight loss.
The charity’s work ranges from helping veterans relearn vital life and skills and providing them with the tools they need to be independent in their own homes, to offering new learning, training and recreation opportunities.
They also provide long-term nursing, residential and respite care.
