Bogus police officers ransack house

TWO men claiming to be police officers forced their way into an elderly woman’s home at Warrington, knocked her to the floor and burgled the house.
Police are appealing for help from the public following the incident at a house on Waterworks Lane, Winwick, last night (Monday).
The woman twisted her ankle when she was knocked to the floor and could only watch helplessly as the two offenders ransacked her home.
The aggravated burglary took place at about 8.30pm when the men forced their way into the house, claiming to be police officers.
They search the property and then left with a small amount of cash along with a silver house key on a multi coloured ribbon and two grey telephone handsets.
The first offender is described as 6ft tall with a long thin face and facial stubble and dark hair. He was dressed in dark clothing.
The second offender is described as approximately 5ft tall, with a local accent.
At the time of the incident he was wearing a dark facial covering and a grey V-neck jumper, which had two small logos on either side of the chest.
Anyone with information relating to the incident is asked to contact Cheshire Police on 101 quoting incident number 858 of 3/11/2014. Alternatively information can be reported anonymously to the Crimestoppers hotline on 0800 555 111.
