Police seek missing taser cartridge

POLICE are alerting the public about a missing taser cartridge which may have been lost by an officer on patrol in the Warrington area, almost a year to the day of a similar incident.
The missing equipment, which is not harmful unless tampered with, went missing sometime between 5pm on Friday 3 October and 6.30am on Saturday 4 October, when a Cheshire Police officer misplaced a taser cartridge in the course of his duties.
The officer had carried out extensive duties across the Warrington and Halton area. At some point the cartridge which, was attached to his equipment vest became detached and has yet to be located.
Inspector David Price said: “We would ask that if anyone finds the cartridge, they do not touch it but instead contact the police so that it can be
recovered by an officer.
“This is a very rare event and a full internal review is underway.”
A similar incident was reported in October last year, and the cartridge was eventually located in a layby on the A534.
