A TEA and Talk event is being held in Warrington Indoor Market to mark World Mental Health Day on Friday, October 10 (10am-4pm).
Patients will be given the opportunity to find out more about local services that can support their mental wellbeing, and the event is being organised by Warrington Borough Council’s Mental Health Forum and Public Health Team.
Dr Mike Dennis, Clinical Lead (Mental Health) for Warrington Clinical Commissioning Group said: “The focus of this year’s event is ‘Living with schizophrenia.’ Patients attending the event will be able to have an informal chat over a cup of tea about what local services and support networks are available to them.
“It is estimated there are 18,500 adults in Warrington with a current diagnosis of depression and prevalence for schizophrenia, bipolar disorder and other psychoses.
“As 90% of mental health care is provided within primary care, this event will enable us to engage with as many patients as possible to ensure they get the best possible care and support to manage their illness and to help them recover.”
