THERE was plenty of British Bulldog spirit at the annual Lymm May Queen Festival as villagers showed their true colours for the Queen’s birthday, the 100th anniversary of World War One and the World Cup.
The village was transformed into a sea of red white and blue with plenty of Union Jacks on show as Eleven-year-old Esme Stevens was crowned May Queen while eight-year-old Zoe Thompson was crowned Rose Queen.
Both elected Queens attend Oughtrington Primary School.
Town Crier Peter Powell (pictured above) used the occasion to unveil his brand new uniform, designed by students at Liverpool University, which took six months to make.
The parade was led by members of Lymm Royal British Legion and special guests included Warrington South MP David Mowat.
