EMPLOYERS, careers professionals and apprenticeship providers will be on hand to give advice and opportunities to young people at a careers event.
Warrington Borough Council’s careers for young people service and United Utilities are holding the careers evening on Thursday 27 February, 4-6pm, at the United Utilities site in Lingley Mere.
Young People aged 16-24 are invited to attend if they are interested in a career in the science, technology, engineering or mathematics (STEM) industry. There will be advisors available to offer practical support and information about each sector and offer real job vacancies and apprenticeship opportunities.
A large number of companies have confirmed attendance for the evening including Sellafield Ltd, J N Bentley Ltd and SSE.
Cllr Colin Froggatt, executive board member for children and young people’s services, said: “This will be a fantastic event for those wanting to explore a career within the STEM industries. The careers for young people service is dedicated to helping young people in Warrington find employment, education or training opportunities and events like this are so beneficial.”
