WARRINGTON Conservative Future (WCF) has chosen Brainwave as its charity of the year.
Brainwave is a national charity which works with families in Birchwood, Essex and Somerset to deliver home-based therapy programmes to children with a disability or developmental delay so they can reach their full potential.
Brainwave’s North West centre is based in Birchwood and ambassadors include Britain’s wheelchair fencing champion Adrian Derbyshire and singer Olly Murs.
WCF chairman Jonathan Levy said: “The Brainwave programme does tremendous work to change the lives of young people all over the country.
“When I was younger I took part in a similar programme. The hard work, determination and effort put in by all involved makes a huge difference and gives parents hope for the future.
“I’m delighted that WCF members recognise the good work being done by Brainwave. We are looking forward to supporting the charity in whatever ways we can.”
Joanne Freeman, Brainwave’s community fundraising manager, said: “We are thrilled to be nominated as WCF charity of the year. The charity empowers parents to help themselves and their families to achieve the goal of reaching their full potential.
“The North West centre in Birchwood receives no government or statutory funding, so we are deeply appreciative for all the support WCF can give the charity over the next 12 months. All funds raised will go towards the running of the centre.”
