Another 128 COVID-19 cases confirmed as Warrington prepares for self imposed Tier 3 local lockdown

ANOTHER 128 people have tested positive for COVID-19 in Warrington as the town prepares to enter a self-imposed Tier 3 lockdown on Tuesday in a bid to curb the high rates of infection.

As reported earlier today Warrington Borough Council brought forward the stricter lockdown restrictions due to concerns for public health and the increasing pressures at Warrington Hospital
Meanwhile the 128 (79) new COVID-19 positive cases reported by Public Health England today, mean the total number of confirmed cases in Warrington since the start of the pandemic is now 4,920 (4,792).
Cases in Warrington for the last seven days are 739 – 351.9 per 100,000 population.
Latest figures from Warrington & Halton Hospitals updated Friday 23rd October 2020 – Thursday’s figures in brackets. Figures are not updated at weekends.
Covid-19 positive inpatients 102 (116) – Of which 13 (15) are in ICU
Total number of tests (inpatients/community) cumulative – 29,372 (29,189)
Total tests with a positive result (inpatients/community/died/discharged) cumulative 1,830 (1,809)
Discharges of positive patients (excluding deaths) cumulative 545 (540)
Deaths of Covid-19 positive inpatients cumulative 175 (168)
According to the latest data from Public Health England there have now been 189 (184) deaths in Warrington, 90 per 100,000 population.
Across the UK the daily number of COVID-19 associated UK deaths was 174 (224), taking the total number of deaths to 44,745 (44,571).
The daily number of lab-confirmed UK cases was 23,012 (20,530), taking the total number to 854,010 (830,998).
Across the country, there are 7,850 (7,706) patients currently in hospital and 743 (707) patients in ventilator beds.
