THE new Warrington Market is encouraging people to take advantage of extended opening hours this Bank Holiday weekend.

Home to more than 50 independent traders, offering a wide range of goods and services, the market’s new “Cookhouse” has proved increasingly popular since its opening last month, with 12 hot and cold food traders.

This bank holiday weekend, the market will be open:

Saturday 29 August

  • Main market hall – 9am to 5pm
  • Cookhouse – 11am to 7pm (some traders open for breakfast from 9am)

Sunday 30 August

  • Main market hall – closed
  • Cookhouse – 11am to 7pm (some traders open for breakfast from 9am)

Monday 31 August

  • Main market hall – 10am to 4pm
  • Cookhouse – 11am to 7pm (some traders open for breakfast from 9am)

After the bank holiday weekend, the main market hall is now open Monday to Saturday, 9am – 5pm, and the Cookhouse is open 11am – 7pm, with some traders open for breakfast from 9am. Some individual trader opening times may differ slightly.

Council Leader, Cllr Russ Bowden, said: “The new Warrington Market has got off to a really successful start. It’s been fantastic to see so many people visiting the venue and having a great experience. If you haven’t had chance to come along and see it for yourself yet, this bank holiday weekend is the perfect opportunity.

“Our traders have told us they’ve been delighted to welcome many new customers and young people, alongside longstanding customers. From people visiting our fantastic range of stalls, to families enjoying the tastes of the Cookhouse, the market has been a bustling hive of activity, which is great news for our town centre.”

The market is home to a variety of traders offering a wide range of goods and services, including fresh produce, baked goods, sweets, jewellery, fabrics, comics, clothes and musical instruments, and services such as hairdressers, beauty, tattoos, key cutting, shoe repairs, and clothing alterations.

The Cookhouse has culinary treats on offer – from Eastern delights such as Thai and Chinese, to the freshest Italian pizza, Indian street food and Mexican favourites – there is something for everyone to enjoy! There are also two fully stocked bars, serving a range of cask ales, local brews, wines, spirits and cocktails.

Food is available to takeaway, or you can eat-in at the Cookhouse, which also features a terrace for customers to dine outside during warmer weather.
