THE Spring Litter Pick planned by Stockton Heath Parish Council for this Saturday (March 21) has been cancelled because of the coronavirus emergency.
Clerk Lara Jacob said: “As a public body, the parish council feel that it must set the right example with regard to following the advice of government to reduce social interaction.
“This activity was as much about bringing people together as a social and community group as it was about clearing our village of litter.
“The event will be rearranged once the period of restriction is lifted and we hope all our wonderful volunteers will be able to join us.”
